PRACTICAL GUIDE
How to monitor CPU temperature on Windows 10 and 11
Does your computer heat up while you play or work? Watching temperature alongside CPU load helps you understand what happens, rather than relying on a single reading.

Watch temperature during everyday use
Download and install ThermoSafeguard for 64-bit Windows. Open Overview to see temperature, performance and the graph of recent minutes together. Free monitoring and thermal control work locally without signing in.
Compare three moments
Observe your computer at idle, during your usual task and after it ends. Compare temperature and performance on the graph. To investigate a change, repeat the same task and change one setting at a time so that the comparison is useful.
What is the ideal CPU temperature?
There is no single limit for every CPU. Check the identified model and the thermal reference confirmed by the app. The manufacturer’s specification limit and your selected control range are different things. One brief peak does not describe behaviour over the whole task.
From monitoring to control
ThermoSafeguard adjusts performance as the CPU heats up. Free includes the most restrictive range; Pro lets you choose between four ranges to adjust the balance between temperature and performance. Start with Free and assess it during your own tasks.
What about the CPU fan?
Cooler Booster is included in Free and Pro on compatible hardware. The app checks whether it can control the CPU fan; availability can differ between desktops and laptops.
Do I have to pay to see temperature?
No. Temperature, graphs, sensors and logs are included in Free. Pro adds a choice of four thermal ranges and use on up to two devices simultaneously.
